“You Belong to the City” es una cancion escrita por Glenn Frey (Eagles) y Jack Tempchin, y grabada por Frey durante su carrera como solista.
Fue escrita específicamente para la serie de televisión Miami Vice en 1985. El tema alcanzó casi la cima de los charts, siendo número 2 (detras de “We Built This City” de Starship) en el US Billboard Hot 100 chart, aunque alcanzó la cima del Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart.
Esta canción junto con el “Miami Vice Theme” de Jan Hammer, hizo que la banda de sonido del album de Miami Vice alacanzara el top spot del Billboard 200 chart por 11 semanas en 1985, convirtiéndose en el album más vendido del año y la banda de sonido de una serie de TV más existosa de la historia.
Mientras Frey interpretaba esta canción en vivo en los tours con los Eagles, él dejó de hacerlo en 2005.
